Carterton resident Jo Guest has been selected as the Conservative candidate for the Carterton Gateway ward by-election taking place on Thursday 15th September.
This will be a straight fight between the local Conservative candidate who can work with the Conservative team at Carterton Town Council to get things done or another Liberal Democrat who will work with the Labour and Green Party to continue with their war on motorists and hiking up costs to residents.
Jo Guest said: "One of our town councillors has had to resign as she has moved to Devon to be closer to her family. This has given me the opportunity to put myself forward and if you elect me, I can assure you I will work tirelessly with all Councillors to improve our facilities and make them fit for everyone. The Town Council is at a crossroads with some important projects that will benefit Carterton greatly, like the sports pavilion. I respect the views of councillors and residents and I believe that if we work together we can find a solution that will work and we can move forward in a positive manner."
"As a resident of Carterton and having worked here for many years, I believe Carterton is a great place to live with good schools, great choice in supermarkets, thriving bars & cafes and great community spirit. I will take a fresh look at Carterton’s play areas to see what needs upgrading and will make sure that repairs are carried out quickly and efficiently. Please support me with your vote on Thursday 15th September."
