Hello my name is Adrian Walsh, I am a retired Maintenance Surveyor and have lived, with my late wife and two sons, in Ducklington since July 2006. All that time I have been an active member of The Village Church and participated in various other village activities.
I am passionate about ensuring that both Ducklington and Curbridge, remain distinct villages and are not allowed to become, to all intense and purposes suburbs of Witney. Thanks to the in actions of the current Liberal, Labour, Green coalition, it is sadly too late to save The Moors! However, it will be my top priority to ensure that when the final plans are submitted that they are as sympathetic as to the character of the village as possible. I will look to ensure that as much green space as possible is allowed for. Critically I will campaign to make certain that throughout the building process, the two public footpaths that cross The Moors, are kept open and accessible to the people of Ducklington. I will also do all within my power to ensure that adequate provision is made for the collection of storm water and that this is not allowed to dissipate, where it will course flooding problems elsewhere; because as all of us who live locally know, The Moors, currently absorbs a lot of water.
I will seek to work with the residents of Curbridge, to find an appropriate solution to prevent Well Lane being used as a “rat run” and cut through to the new roundabout on the A40.
I consider it a great honour to represent the people of this community on the District Council.
